Donations to former President Donald Trump’s election campaign have surpassed $90 million in the days following his felony conviction in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s politically motivated “hush money” case.

“The American people have really spoken up, and they’ve spoken with their wallets and their pocketbooks. Even in a time when our economy is in such bad shape, thanks to horrific policies by Joe Biden, the American people came out and in 48 hours after Donald Trump’s verdict was read, our campaign and the RNC raised 70-million-dollars in digital fundraising,” RNC co-chair Lara Trump told CNN on Sunday morning.

“This is small-dollar donations, and I think the amazing statistic to take out of that, is that 30 percent of that money came in from people who had never once donated to Donald Trump,” she continued. “People are very upset about what they saw happen to someone who never should have had a case brought against him. We all know that if his name had been anything but Donald Trump, this case would have never seen the light of day.”

The massive surge has led to the evaporation of President Biden’s previously massive fundraising edge. In April, the Biden campaign raised just $51 million, falling short of the Trump campaign’s $76 million haul in the same time period. The post-verdict donations alone have outpaced Biden’s April numbers as well.

While the Trump campaign has been dominating in small-dollar donations throughout the election cycle, the former president is now receiving support from a number of billionaires and other megadonors as well.

Miriam Adelson recently announced that she plans to pour tens of millions of dollars into a pro-Trump SuperPAC after flirting with other candidates in the primary.

The casino billionaire and her late husband, Sheldon Adelson, were Trump’s biggest donors in 2020 with more than $90 million in contributions to the Preserve America PAC.

Hedge fund billionaire Bill Ackman, who has campaigned against DEI policies and campus antisemitism in recent months, is likely to endorse Trump as well, according to a report from the Financial Times. Tech investors David Sacks and Chamath Palihapitiya are hosting a Silicon Valley fundraiser for Trump on June 6, while X owner Elon Musk is now holding regular meetings with the former president.

Activist financier Nelson Peltz, who said he regretted voting for Trump after the January 6 Capitol protests, hosted the former president for a fundraiser at his Florida mansion back in March.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk is also reportedly warming up to Trump despite previously saying he does not intend to donate to either candidate. While this may be so, Musk  now speaks to the former president multiple times per month and is organizing dinner parties to whip elite opposition against Biden, Axios reported.
