On Tuesday, “The View” panel was buzzing as they speculated on the potential consequences that could arise for former President Donald Trump due to his continued violations of the gag order imposed in his criminal trial. Outside the Manhattan courthouse on Monday, Trump defiantly criticized the judge’s decision even after being fined for the tenth gag order breach.

Judge Juan Merchan, presiding over the criminal case regarding hush money payments, had fined Trump $1,000 for his repeated disregard for the gag order after he called members of the jury “Democrats.” Just days before, Trump had received penalties for similar violations. In response to the court’s restrictions, Trump stood before reporters, emphatically holding up a piece of paper and reading aloud quotes from various mainstream media sources, including CNN and NBC, to challenge the consistency and integrity of the legal case against him.

During his impromptu press conference, Trump voiced his frustration: “I have to watch every word I tell you people. You ask me a question, a simple question, and I’d like to give it, but I can’t talk about it because this judge has given me a gag order and said you’ll go to jail if you violate it. And frankly, you know what, our Constitution is much more important than jail.”

In their spirited conversation on “The View,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg accused Trump of playing the victim, saying, “So as we speak, Stormy Daniels is on the stand testifying in the criminal fraud trial of you-know-who. And he was out there whining outside. He is such a snowflake. ‘Oh my gosh, it’s all so mean to me.’”

Goldberg criticized Trump’s defiant stance, arguing, “When they give you a gag order, they’re ordering you to shut up. See? And because that’s what they’re ordering you to do, and you’re not following the rules like you haven’t before, that’s why your behind is in court now.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin acknowledged the dilemma of enforcing the gag order, explaining, “I’m sort of conflicted about whether or not he should be held in contempt and put in jail for it, but I do think that 71% of Americans have said that he should be put in jail if he is convicted.”

Goldberg and the panel playfully speculated on potential prison destinations for Trump if he continues to violate the gag order. Goldberg quipped, “Which prison would be best? Number one is Rikers. But, you know, I’m okay if he goes to Alcatraz and they reopen it.”

Alyssa Farah pointed out that the lack of courtroom cameras leaves viewers with secondhand information and court sketches, making it harder for the public to gauge the full impact of Daniels’ testimony. She added, “Even if he’s not convicted, this may resonate with women.”

Though penalized repeatedly for violating the gag order, Trump’s defiant stance continues to attract heated reactions both inside and outside the courtroom. Stormy Daniels is expected to retake the stand on Thursday.
