During Monday's edition of “The Five” on Fox News, co-host Jesse Watters unleashed a memorable dig at fellow panelist Jessica Tarlov over her comments about Donald Trump's legal challenges.

The discussion, which centered on Trump’s legal woes, took a turn when Tarlov said that “people don’t want to vote for a convicted felon.” Trump is facing criminal indictments in four jurisdictions and has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Watters retorted to Tarlov’s assertion with a pointed jab about her knowledge of real estate, saying, “You don't know anything about real estate, Jessica. You rent!” He gestured towards the Manhattan skyline, adding, “Look at that building right there. Trump owns that building…Take a look at the entire Manhattan skyline. Trump owns all of these beautiful properties. He's built these things.”

Tarlov, taken aback, could only respond with, “Did you actually just say that to me?”

Watters then contrasted Trump's accomplishments with those of Joe Biden, questioning, “What has Joe Biden built?” He then criticized Biden for not having the same kind of tangible achievements as Trump, arguing that the former president “is responsible for thousands of Americans being hired and millions of dollars being made by banks, by investors in this great city.”

Tarlov has been in hot water legally lately following allegations of defamatory remarks made against Tony Bobulinski, a key figure in the ongoing congressional investigation into Joe Biden. Last Wednesday, Tarlov falsely claimed that Bobulinski's legal expenses were covered by a pro-Trump Super PAC.

Bobulinski, who appeared before Congress to provide testimony, vehemently denied Tarlov's claim.

“Tony Bobulinski's lawyers' fees have been paid by a Trump super PAC,” Tarlov said at the time. “That's as recent as January. Do you think that a guy who's invested in how much better off he wants the United States to be and really getting to the bottom of this would be taking money from the guy who extorted the Ukrainians to get dirt on the Bidens?”

The controversy reached a boiling point when attorneys for Bobulinski demanded a public retraction and apology from Tarlov, specifying that such an apology should occur at the beginning of “The Five” and include an explicit acknowledgment of the falsehood of her previous statements.

As for the former president, a trial date has been set for April 15th, pitting Trump against Alvin Bragg, the progressive Manhattan district attorney who elevated Trump's charges despite historically downgrading felonies for other offenders who have come before his office.

The new gag order imposed by Judge Merchan stated that Trump may not direct critical statements toward witnesses, court staff, DA Bragg, or other members of the prosecution. Other gag orders have been opposed by Trump's team in unison with members of the mainstream media.

The start of Trump's first criminal trial comes just weeks after his final rival for the Republican presidential nomination departed the race, securing his path to take on President Joe Biden in November. Other criminal matters, including two federal cases and another in Georgia, have faced a series of procedural delays or been sidetracked by scandalous behavior by prosecutors.
