Liberal Fox News contributor Jessica Tarlov was instantly fact-checked by co-host Greg Gutfeld when she re-hashed the “inject bleach” hoax during Tuesday’s installment of “The Five.”

As soon as Tarlov falsely claimed that former President Donald Trump instructed people to “inject bleach” in order to fight COVID-19, the statement was immediately met with groans and pushback from her co-hosts. “Oh, come on,” exclaimed Jeanine Pirro.

“That’s a hoax,” added Greg Gutfeld as Tarlov attempted to double down. “It’s not a hoax,” she said, at which point Gutfeld replied with “he never said that” and told his co-host to look it up.

“It never happened! You are literally living in a delusion right now. That never was said. Do the research. No one ever said injecting bleach,” Gutfeld said. “Look it up, it’s been debunked,” he continued before comparing it to the “very fine people” hoax.

Seemingly unsure of her position, Tarlov immediately pulled out her phone and attempted to prove her claim.

That would be an impossible task, however, as the former president never told Americans that “injecting bleach” or other household cleaning products would be helpful against COVID-19.

The White House transcript at the time showed that Trump said:

And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that. So, that, you’re going to have to use medical doctors with. But it sounds – it sounds interesting to me.

Despite the fact that Trump never said it, the Biden-Harris Campaign has continuously referenced the hoax in campaign ads, rallies and network interviews.
