Two House Democrats who sought taxpayer money to fund their trip to El Salvador to visit purported MS-13 gangbanger Kilmar Abrego Garcia were turned away by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer.
Democrat Reps. Maxwell Frost of Florida and Robert Garcia of California on Tuesday asked Comer to approve funding for their visit to CECOT, the massive prison in El Salvador that houses thousands of gang members, to visit Abrego Garcia.
Comer said in a letter to Frost and Garcia that he “will not approve a single dime of taxpayer funds” for their request.
Democrats and legacy media continue to insist that the Trump Administration must bring Abrego Garcia back to the United States as he was wrongfully deported.
The Trump Administration has said even if Abrego Garcia were to be returned, he would again be deported. El Salvador President Nayib Bukele has said he will not release the suspected gang member.
This is gold. Comer should get a Congressional Letter Award of some kind. pic.twitter.com/9qa22A3AHZ
