Joe Biden’s closing message: Trump supporters are ‘garbage’

Joe Biden’s closing message to 2024 voters on behalf of Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris:

“Donald Trump has no character. He doesn’t give a damn about the Latino community…just the other day, a speaker at his rally called Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage?…The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,”

Yes, Joe Biden, and by extension Kamala Harris, just called some 80 million Americans “garbage.”

Biden’s handlers tried to walk it back, but it’s there on video:

Former New York Rep. Lee Zeldin put it succinctly: “As if their Hitler/Nazi attack wasn’t disgraceful enough, it’s one heck of a closing message to call half the country ‘garbage’. That includes veterans, police, clergy, Holocaust survivors, victims of illegal immigrant crime, teachers, laborers, fire fighters, and so many more.”

And it also includes Puerto Rico’s Shadow U.S. Sen. Zoraida Buxó, who endorsed Trump on stage at his rally in Allentown, Pennsylvania on Tuesday.

While I am running a campaign of positive solutions to save America, Kamala Harris is running a campaign of hate. She has spent all week comparing her political opponents to the most evil mass murderers in history. Now, on top of everything, Joe Biden calls our supporters “garbage.” You can’t lead America if you don’t love the American People. Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have shown they are both unfit to be President of the United States.

I am proud to lead the biggest, broadest, and most important political coalition in American history. We are welcoming historic numbers of Latinos, African Americans, Asian Americans, and citizens of every race, religion, color, and creed. It is my desire to be the President of all the people.

JD Vance’s response called out journalists trying to spin Biden’s comment:
