In the first post-tariff Liberation Day deal, Trump said the U.S. and UK are to sign a “tremendous trade deal” and enter into a “economic security alignment.”

Trump noted that the announcement of the deal came on a “special day” of the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day when “we won the war together.”

Key points in the deal include:

• A $5 billion opportunity for new exports for U.S. farmers, ranchers, and producers.

• Opening for $700 million in ethanol exports and $250 million in other agricultural products, like beef.

• Streamlined customs for exports secures the supply chain of U.S. aerospace manufacturers through preferential access to high-quality UK aerospace components.

• 100,000 cut-tariff UK car exports a year.

• A trading union for steel and aluminium.

Trump wrote in a post to Truth Social:

Today is an incredible day for America as we deliver our first Fair, Open, and Reciprocal Trade Deal — Something our past Presidents never cared about. Together with our strong Ally, the United Kingdom, we have reached the first, historic Trade Deal since Liberation Day. As part of this Deal, America will raise $6 BILLION DOLLARS in External Revenue from 10% Tariffs, $5 BILLION DOLLARS in new Export Opportunities for our Great Ranchers, Farmers, and Producers, and enhance the National Security of both the U.S. and the UK through the creation of an Aluminum and Steel Trading Zone, and a secure Pharmaceutical Supply Chain. This Deal shows that if you respect America, and bring serious proposals to the table, America is OPEN FOR BUSINESS. Many more to come — STAY TUNED!

“Too Late” Jerome Powell is a FOOL, who doesn’t have a clue. Other than that, I like him very much! Oil and Energy way down, almost all costs (groceries and “eggs”) down, virtually NO INFLATION, Tariff Money Pouring Into the U.S. — THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF “TOO LATE!” ENJOY!

Trump hailed the “breakthrough trade deal” with “one of our closest and most cherished allies” and said:

“With this deal the UK joins the United States in affirming that reciprocity and fairness is an essential and vital principle of international trade. The deal includes billions of dollars of increased market access for American exports, especially in agriculture, dramatically increasing access for American beef, ethanol, and virtually all the products created by our great farmers.

“In addition the UK will eliminate or reduce numerous non-tariff barriers that unfairly discriminate against American products, but I think this is turning out to be a great deal for both countries as it will be really great for the UK also. They are opening up, their country is a little closed, and we appreciate that.”

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the deal is going to “boost trade between and across out countries, it is not only going to protect jobs but create jobs, opening market access.”

The UK leader referenced the security aspect of secure supply lines, the unspoken security question in the logistical chains for many finished products being Chinese components, precursors, and raw materials.

Supplementary details state the deal will also open up increased export opportunities for British businesses to the American market, including tariffs slashed for British cars exported to the United States, and tariffs even set to zero for specialist aero equipment like Rolls Royce jet engines.

Trump also noted the “historic step” of inducting Great Britain into an “economic security alignment… the first of its kind”. He said of this development: “We feel very, very comfortable with that because it’s been a great ally, truly one of our great allies… both countries have agreed that economic security is national security, and will be working together as allies to ensure we have a strong industrial base, appropriate export controls, and protections for key technologies and industries.”

Trump added that many nations have been asking for such deals, stating “by the way we have many meetings planned today and tomorrow. Every country wants to be making deals.”

Trump had previously said that the fastest movers would get the best deals.
