A newly launched GoFundMe authorized by GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump has already raised more than $3.2 million from more than 19,000 contributors to help victims of Hurricane Helene.
The Trump campaign launched the GoFundMe after the former president toured devastated areas of Georgia.
“With so many across the Southeastern U.S. facing challenges after the storm, President Trump is on the ground in communities to see the aftermath firsthand,” the page states. “All donations will be directed to help those most affected by Hurricane Helene. Any level of generosity will go a long way for your fellow Americans who are suffering.”
Trump told hurricane victims: “Our hearts are with you and we are going to be with you as long as you need it.”
Joe Biden, meanwhile, returned to the White House from yet another vacation weekend at the beach in Delaware. Biden’s handlers have not indicated he has any plans to visit any of the areas devastated by Helene.
Biden “told suffering Americans in the flood disaster that there wouldn’t be more resources coming and instead asked the public to donate,” Jason Walsh wrote for The Daily Fetched.
The Federalist’s Beth Brelje noted: “There is no political upside for Biden to show up anymore. He is the lamest of lame ducks.”
While Kamala Harris was hobnobbing with Hollywood celebs and raising more funds at a Las Vegas gala, her team responded to Helene with a statement from the Democrat candidate:
“My heart goes out to everyone impacted by the devastation unleashed by Hurricane Helene. Doug and I are thinking of those who tragically lost their lives and we are keeping all those who loved them in our prayers during the difficult days ahead.”
Brelje noted: “When someone’s life is turned upside down, sometimes the only comfort you can offer is to drop everything and show up for them. Posting a staff-written statement on the White House website is not leadership. Biden and Harris are either oblivious to the pain of this moment, or they just don’t care.”
Or, as some pointed out, they just don’t care about southern white people, or flyover rednecks in the Democrat playbook.
As Human Events editor Jack Posobiec put it: “It isn’t ‘DEI programs’ causing the U.S. establishment to downplay or ignore the suffering in rural America caused by Helene. They just hate white people. Years of anti-white media, social engineering, and oligarchical policies have led to this.”
But Franklin Graham’s Black Mountain headquarters was hard hit as were the legendary Vanderbilts’ Biltmore Estate and Asheville’s elite Biltmore Village, so rednecks weren’t the only ones impacted.
