Ed Martin is heading up the Weaponization Working Group.

Ed Martin, whose nomination as U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia was essentially sabotaged by RINOs, said that one of his first priorities in his new role heading up the newly formed Department of Justice Weaponization Working Group is investigating several last-minute pardons issued by Joe Biden in the final hours of his administration.

In an interview with Daily Caller editorial director Vince Coglianese, Martin noted that the wheels of justice turn slowly but said the investigation is on track for accountability.

Martin stated that the investigation is focusing on possible corruption and abuse of the pardon power, specifically surrounding the unusually broad nature of the pardons and the individuals they covered, which include Fauci and his son Hunter Biden.

“It looks at least like something that you could be corrupt,” Martin said.

He compared the situation to former President Bill Clinton’s controversial pardon of financier Marc Rich, which drew scrutiny due to Rich’s connections and donations to Clinton allies.

“That’s not corrupt, it’s not criminal, because the plenary power of the pardon,” Martin said.

“But in the case of Joe Biden and his pardons, they were so specific. Back 14 years, covering everything you’ve ever done. And when I say specific, they were broad, but they had time stuff on them.”

Russiagate and lawfare will likely join “pardongate” on Martin’s list of priorities.

Martin told the New York Post: “There was no limit to the weaponization. So there may be no limit to the targets.”

“It’s a nationwide and frankly, international docket where the government was used against the citizens, where the government was weaponized,” Martin added.

In his new position, Martin “is now spearheading the crackdown on the very Swamp creatures behind the Russia collusion hoax,” The Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft noted. “These are the same bad actors who weaponized federal power to persecute political opponents and twisted the justice system into a partisan hit machine.”
