Europe’s LNG Gamble Exposed By Middle East War

BREAKING: May PCE inflation, the Fed's preferred inflation measure, rises to 2.3%, in-line with expectations of 2.3%.
Core PCE inflation rises to 2.7%, above expectations of 2.6%.
PCE inflation is now rising for the first time since February 2025.
The Fed pause will continue.
— The Kobeissi Letter (@KobeissiLetter) June 27, 2025
1. Sticky Services Inflation
Core PCE (which excludes food and energy) is heavily weighted toward services, such as housing, healthcare, and financial services.
Services inflation has proven persistent, especially in housing rent, insurance, and healthcare costs.
2. Labor Market Strength
The job market remains tight: unemployment is low and wages are still rising.
Higher wages boost consumer spending, which keeps demand elevated, especially in non-goods sectors like leisure, travel, and personal services.
3. Consumer Spending Resilience
Despite higher interest rates, consumer spending hasn’t slowed as much as expected.
Households still have cash buffers from pandemic-era savings and strong income growth, keeping demand robust.
4. Delayed Effects of Monetary Policy
Fed rate hikes may not yet be fully filtering through the economy, particularly in shelter, which has a lag in showing up in inflation data.
5. Medical Services Repricing
Medicare and health insurance price changes often re-set annually, and Q2 is a key period when adjustments can push core inflation higher.
Category | Impact | Reason |
---|---|---|
Housing (Rent & OER) | 🔺 Moderate–High | Shelter inflation remains elevated due to lagged lease renewals. |
Healthcare Services | 🔺 High | Medicare reimbursement rate changes and insurance costs rose. |
Financial Services | 🔺 Moderate | Higher interest rates increased costs on services like banking/credit. |
Recreation Services | 🔺 Slight | Strong consumer demand for travel, events, streaming, etc. |
Transportation Services | 🔺 Slight–Moderate | Auto insurance and airfares edged up. |
Goods (Durables & Nondurables) | 🔻 Flat/Down | Goods inflation continues to cool or fall, especially in used cars, appliances, etc. |

DOGE
President Trump’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) just lobbed a political grenade at the foreign-aid swamp, recommending an immediate end to nearly two dozen “war-crimes and accountability” projects that have quietly siphoned U.S. tax dollars into the pockets of activist lawyers, globalist NGOs, and ivory-tower academics from Kyiv to Yangon.
Among the loudest complainers: Global Rights Compliance and the Legal Action Network—two foreign outfits billing Washington to “document” Russian atrocities while angling for lucrative courtroom show-trials in The Hague.
The OMB memo gives Secretary of State Marco Rubio a narrow window to appeal, but insiders say Rubio is unlikely to rescue most projects.

showed the unparalleled power and precision of the US Military, and Iran know that if they flirt with nukes, we can destroy them with relative ease, and Trump took it VERY easy on them this time. This operation served as a future deterrent via show of force. And it was not just Trump who didn’t want Iran to have a nuclear weapon. All the other Muslim nations in the region, Saudi, Qatar, UAE, in addition to Russia, China, the EU, and all the other powers of the world, also agreed Iran should not have a nuclear weapon, hence why they agreed to stand down and let Trump attack without retaliation. Iran were isolated by the world, and everyone sided with Trump. The objective was not to delay Iran from making nuclear weapons. It was to deter them from ever trying it again.

FROM A VERY UGLY AND IGNOMINIOUS DEATH, and he does not have to say, “THANK YOU, PRESIDENT TRUMP!” In fact, in the final act of the War, I demanded that Israel bring back a very large group of planes, which were heading directly to Tehran, looking for a big day, perhaps the final knockout! Tremendous damage would have ensued, and many Iranians would have been killed. It was going to be the biggest attack of the War, by far. During the last few days, I was working on the possible removal of sanctions, and other things, which would have given a much better chance to Iran at a full, fast, and complete recovery – The sanctions are BITING! But no, instead I get hit with a statement of anger, hatred, and disgust, and immediately dropped all work on sanction relief, and more. Iran has to get back into the World Order flow, or things will only get worse for them. They are always so angry, hostile, and unhappy, and look at what it has gotten them – A burned out, blown up Country, with no future, a decimated Military, a horrible Economy, and DEATH all around them. They have no hope, and it will only get worse! I wish the leadership of Iran would realize that you often get more with HONEY than you do with VINEGAR. PEACE!!!

HOLY SHIT… Biden weaponized the DOJ/FBI to try to steal the documents proving that Obama/Biden committed TREASON!!! I think the Mar-a-Lago raid had a lot to do with the Deep State trying to cover up their plan to let Iran build nukes. TRUMP KNEW THE ENTIRE TIME!!!

reconciliation, the threshold to either appeal the ruling of the chair or to waive a point of order is 60 votes. In the event Vance were to “ignore” the parliamentarian’s advice and rule that a Byrd point of order was not well taken, the provision would stay in unless there were 60 votes to overrule the chair and effectively reinstate/sustain the point of order. However, an amendment to strike the language would still only need a simple majority to succeed. If a majority wants a provision removed, it’s going to get removed regardless of what the parliamentarian advises or what Vance (or whoever is in the chair) rules.
