Major Bank Hit with Record Fine Over Drug Cartel Money Laundering Scandal 

  • One of America’s major banks has been hit with a massive fine after federal investigators said it was lax in its efforts to monitor money laundering.
  • TD Bank will pay $1.89 billion to the Department of Justice, $123.5 million to the Federal Reserve Board, and $450 million to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, according to the consent order between the federal government and the bank.

    Court Strikes Down Part Of Blue State’s Restrictive Gun Law In Win For Second Amendment

  • A federal district court struck down part of a law that made it illegal to carry a firearm on private property without a clear form of consent from the owner.
  • The U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York reached its decision in Christian v. James by finding that New York ​​penal code § 265.01-d’s restriction on “private property open to the public” unconstitutional and enjoining the state from enforcing it.
  • The law made possessing a firearm on private property a felony “unless the relevant property holders actually permit such possession with a sign or express consent,” according to the decision. In 2022, New York passed the Concealed Carry Improvement Act (CCIA), including § 265.01-d.
  • The plaintiff of the case, Brett Christian, argued that the wording of the state’s provision made it impracticable for him to carry a firearm for the purposes of self-defense. Turns out, not only was he preaching at them with a blatantly “stand with her because she’s black” approach, but he was even scolding them, suggesting the reason they might not be for her was because she was a woman.

    Why is this relevant?
    Who can be held hostage and controlled?
    CIA thinks its foreign offshore assets are strong enough to defend against the US executive (not accounting for military use on domestic soil).
    Why does the Constitution explicitly grant this authority to the President and what is it to prevent?
    They knew our agencies would grow in power so much so they could/can hold the executive hostage or engage with bad actors.
    Trump nominated someone new to direct every agency but one. He controls the top.
