The New York Post has more details:

The former US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia was found dead Saturday morning by police who are now investigating the shocking demise of the high profile lawyer, according to reports.

The body of Jessica Aber, 43, a Biden appointee who resigned her position in January as President Trump took office, was discovered at her home by Alexandria Police Department officers just before 9:20 a.m. Saturday morning, according to Fox News.

The circumstances of the death remain under investigation, according to the APD, NBC Washington reported.

An official cause of death will be determined by the Virginia medical examiner’s office.

Local officers arrived at Aber’s Alexandria, Va., home after receiving a call reporting an “unresponsive woman,” according to local reports.

ABC News added:

Former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Jessica Aber was found dead Saturday morning, in Alexandria, Virginia, according to police.

She was 43.

Police in Alexandria, Virginia, were called to a home on Beverly Drive in the suburb of Washington, D.C., at around 9:18 a.m. Saturday for the report of an unresponsive woman, according to a police statement. They found Aber dead inside.

Police said an investigation is underway surrounding the circumstances of her death. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death, police said.

Aber, who served as U.S. attorney in Virginia for most of the Biden administration, took office in October 2021 after being unanimously confirmed by the Senate and stepped down in January, shortly after President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

As U.S. attorney, Aber oversaw a staff of some 300 prosecutors and other staff and handled federal prosecutions in the state.

She started working in the office starting in 2009 as an assistant U.S. attorney, prosecuting financial fraud, public corruption, violent crime and child exploitation cases, according to an online biography.

At this time, we do not know the cause of Aber’s death.

Police are investigating and say there is no evidence of foul play.

Let’s hope that they are right.

However, given her age and the timing, her death seems more than a little suspicious to many.

Regardless of the cause of her death, losing anyone so young is very sad and tragic.

Please keep her family and loved ones in your prayers.
