This is a breaking news alert…
The shooter who allegedly lured firefighters to a mountain in Idaho this evening by starting a brush fire then opening fire — killing two and injuring others — has just been taken out.
The Kootenai County sheriff is scheduled to give a press conference with more details shortly.
The Idaho Tribune announced:

The shooter was found dead on the hillside with a firearm nearby.
Per NBC News:
A man was found dead on Canfield Mountain, and a firearm was found near the body, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
ADVERTISEMENTThough the man was not identified as a shooter, the discovery prompted authorities to lift a shelter-in-place order for those nearby.
The sheriff’s office said members of a SWAT team found the body.
Officials said that although the shelter-in-place order was being lifted, there is still an active wildfire. “Residents in the area are advised to be prepared and ready should further action need to be taken,” the sheriff’s office said.
While the active shooter threat has been neutralized, the brush fire continues to burn.
We don’t know at this time whether or not the shooter acted alone or if there were multiple people involved, as earlier reports seem to indicate.
The New York Times noted:
The authorities did not release any additional information about the dead man’s identity but scheduled a news conference for later Sunday night. The Kootenai sheriff had earlier raised the possibility there were multiple shooters. But on Sunday evening, Bruce Mattare, chairman of the Kootenai County Board of Commissioners, said that the authorities were “awaiting confirmation” that the attack had been carried out by one person.
We’ll deliver more details as soon as we find out…
