Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) faced extreme criticism for his comments about Gaza on Fox News following the killing of two Israeli diplomats in Washington D.C.

"The Palestinian cause is an evil one," Fine said.

Fine later compared the situation in Gaza to the conflicts in WWII with Germany and Japan.

"I think it speaks to the importance of the only end of the conflict is complete and total surrender by those who support Muslim terror," Fine said.

"In WWII, we did not negotiate a surrender with the Nazis. We did not negotiate a surrender with the Japanese," he continued.

"We nuked the Japanese twice in order to get unconditional surrender. That needs to be the same here. There is something deeply, deeply wrong with this culture and it needs to be defeated," he added.

X users criticized Fine's comments:

"Muslim terror has come to our Nation’s Capital tonight. Two Jews were assassinated by a gunman sporting a terror rag and yelling 'Free Palestine.' It is high time for us to acknowledge there is nothing peaceful about this movement and that these demons must be put down by any means necessary," Fine wrote on X.

"The Palestinian cause is an evil one," he added.

Per Mediaite:

The comments came hours after two Israeli embassy staffers, Sarah Lynn Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky, were shot and killed outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC. The alleged gunman, identified as Elias Rodriguez, shouted “free Palestine” as he was arrested.

During an interview with Fox News hosts Todd Piro and Carley Shimkus, the duo questioned Fine about the murders.

The newly elected congressman said “Palestinianism is built on violence” and that his “heart does bleed” for the staffers who were killed.

Fine, who is Jewish, linked the attack to what he described as a violent ideology on college campuses protesting Israel’s wars in Gaza.

After Fine's interview, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) called for Congress to condemn his comments.

CAIR stated:

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today strongly condemned Florida Congressman Randy Fine’s latest statement calling for the nuclear annihilation of Gaza and urged both Republican and Democratic leaders to take immediate action to publicly denounce his genocidal rhetoric and remove him from all congressional committees and caucuses.

Police tentatively identified 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez of Chicago, Illinois, as the suspect in the shooting of the Israeli diplomats.

Police said the suspect chanted "Free, free Palestine" while in custody.
