President Donald Trump’s many critics on the left have demonstrated how low they are willing to stoop in order to paint him in a bad light.
And for one artist commissioned to paint a portrait of Trump to be displayed at the Colorado state capitol building, the president says her intention appears to have been to make him look bad.
He weighed in on the matter via social media recently, calling out both the artist and Democratic Gov. Jared Polis.
As The Hill reported:
“Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves, but the one in Colorado, in the State Capitol put up by the Governor, along with all other Presidents, was purposefully distorted to a level that even I, perhaps, have never seen before,” Trump said in a post Sunday on Truth Social. “The artist also did President Obama, and he looks wonderful, but the one [of] me is truly the worst. She must have lost her talent as she got older.”
Trump said he would prefer not having a picture at all than having the one hung up. He said many Coloradans have called the state looking to get it changed or removed.
“I am speaking on their behalf to the Radical Left Governor, Jared Polis, who is extremely weak on Crime, in particular with respect to Tren de Aragua, which practically took over Aurora (Don’t worry, we saved it!), to take it down,” Trump said. “Jared should be ashamed of himself.”
Images of the portrait in question have been spreading recently, with many commenters agreeing that it bears little resemblance to Trump’s actual appearance:

President Trump calls out his portrait at the State Capitol in Colorado
This is what I’ve been saying. Liberal photographers and portrait artists allow their personal political biases to impact the way they depict Trump. It’s a shame and immensely petty. There should be reverence for the highest office in the land. These “artists” go out of their way to distort him because their Trump Derangement Syndrome is so deeply ingrained.
He’s right. That looks nothing like him. I hope he defunds Colorado.

Trump slams the Colorado portrait, then immediately posts his official ones right after. Total king move and he’s so hilarious!

Fox News provided some additional context to the developing story:
The portrait was first unveiled in 2019, according to Colorado Public Radio, and Sarah A. Boardman is the artist behind the portrait.
“My portrait of President Trump has been called thoughtful, non-confrontational, not angry, not happy, not tweeting,” she said at the unveiling. “In five, 10, 15, 20 years, he will be another president on the wall who is only historical background and he needs to look neutral.”
News outlets in Colorado have also been covering the dispute:
