In case you missed it, JD Vance joined Bluesky yesterday and was banned in less than 20 minutes.
OOPS!
NEW: Bluesky Bans JD Vance Just Minutes After He Joins The Platform
Now today Bluesky has come up with an excuse errrrrrr I mean the "reason" for why they just had to ban the sitting Vice President.
Bluesky issued a statement explaining why Vice President JD Vance was suspended from the platform. https://t.co/yqZ8sANoQV

Newsweek reports that Vance was banned because they just couldn't determine if it was really him:
What To Know
In a statement to Newsweek Wednesday evening, a spokesperson for the platform said Vance's account was removed because Bluesky's system flagged it as a potential impostor."Vice President Vance's account was briefly flagged by our automated systems that try to detect impersonation attempts which have targeted public figures like him in the past," Bluesky said in its statement. "The account was quickly restored and verified so people can easily confirm its authenticity."
ADVERTISEMENT"We welcome the Vice President to join the conversation on Bluesky," the company said.
Bluesky told Fox News that Vance's account was reinstated within 20 minutes of its suspension and that a verified badge has been added to it to "help users confirm the authenticity of the profile."
Vance's first posts on Bluesky referenced Wednesday's Supreme Court ruling upholding a Tennessee law banning gender-affirming care for transgender minors.
The vice president, who has long held anti-abortion views, pointed specifically to Justice Clarence Thomas' opinion, in which Thomas argued against deferring to experts on medical care for transgender youth, writing that they have "no license to countermand the wisdom, fairness, or logic of legislative choices."
Thomas, arguably the most conservative justice on the High Court, went on to say there's no "medical consensus" on "how best to treat gender dysphoria in children."
Do you buy it?

NEW: Bluesky Bans JD Vance Just Minutes After He Joins The Platform
This is pretty hilarious...
Bluesky fancies itself a competitor to Twitter/X, but the numbers show it barely registers as existent:
So imagine being that irrelevant and still banning people you don't agree with from your platform.
The arrogance and hubris and...flat out stupidity!
I think TDS truly does decrease IQ by 50 points.
Because that's what the mensas over at Bluesky did today just minutes after JD Vance joined their platform and tried to engage.
The SITTING Vice President of the United States joined and tried to use your platform and they did this to him:
Vice President JD Vance was permanently suspended from ‘Bluesky’ less than 20 minutes after making an account.
I’m sure it will replace 𝕏 in no time! pic.twitter.com/ml7MjPx4O7

Just like so many of us from 2016-2025, just POOF -- gone -- deleted from social media as if he didn't exist!

Except....he's the sitting Vice President!
Here's a quick summary of all that has happened so far today on this story:
JD Vance, Vice President of the United States, announced on Wednesday that he had joined Bluesky, a social media platform and competitor to X (formerly Twitter).
Roughly 20 minutes after his announcement, Vance’s new Bluesky account was suspended, prompting immediate public attention.
The suspension message simply read: “Account has been suspended.”
ADVERTISEMENTBluesky has not released an official explanation for the account’s suspension.
Before the suspension, Vance posted that he was excited to engage in “common sense political discussion and analysis.”
In his first post, he criticized medical treatments for transgender youth, citing Justice Clarence Thomas and accusing some medical professionals of using “substandard science” for “experimental therapies.”
Vance also claimed that some scientists are influenced by pharmaceutical company funding.
His account has since been reinstated, but the platform has remained silent on the reason for the brief suspension.
The incident has drawn increased scrutiny of censorship and free speech on alternative social media platforms.
Here is what Vance had posted to the platform:
Ok, look two things look pretty obvious to me here...
One, JD Vance knew exactly what would happen and he was just baiting them to do it.
I'm not defending them or saying Vance was trolling, but I it's clear from his tongue-in-cheek post that he knew he'd get insta-banned.
Two, it's clear that nothing about Vance's post was offensive or violated any Terms of Service.
So why did he post it knowing he would get banned?
I think Vance and Trump want to go after Section 230 and shut it down once and for all, and I think they just got the ammunition they needed to do so.
And/or to sue Bluesky out of existence.
One or both:
Bluesky suspended the official account of JD Vance 15 minutes after signing up…
This was his last post. lol
As funny as this is, this may set a precedent for the Trump admin to go after Section 230. pic.twitter.com/g02lqNvw6F

Good luck Bluesky!
I hope you go down and I hope you take Facebook with you.
You're all disgusting censors of Free Speech and I hate you all with a passion.
Go get 'em, JD!
What's your opinion?
