Florida Planning To Build “ALLIGATOR ALCATRAZ” To Detain Illegals

Alcatraz was cool, but do you know what would be much cooler?

ALLIGATOR Alcatraz!

It’s one thing to escape in shark infested waters, but even the most hardened criminals would likely never attempt to swim in the alligator infested Everglades.

Sound crazy?

It’s actually not.

Watch this and you might be surprised it actually makes a lot of sense:

Here’s a quick summary of all we know so far about the plan:

  • Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier proposed a new low-cost immigration detention center dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz” in the Florida Everglades at a largely abandoned airport facility.

  • The site is the Miami-Dade Collier Training Facility, which spans 39 square miles and includes a 10,500-foot runway, making it ideal for flying in detainees.

  • The facility could be operational in 30–60 days and hold up to 1,000 criminal illegal immigrants, according to Uthmeier.

  • The Everglades location is seen as a natural barrier to escape attempts due to alligators, pythons, and swampland, reducing the need for expensive perimeter security.

  • Uthmeier emphasized that Florida is leading on immigration enforcement, aligning closely with Trump administration policies and working with ICE.

  • The proposal follows a new anti-illegal immigration law passed in Florida, along with the creation of the State Immigration Enforcement Council, composed of sheriffs and police chiefs.

  • Uthmeier has pressured local officials, including Broward County Sheriff Gregory Tony, to cooperate more closely with federal immigration enforcement.

  • A recent immigration raid in Tallahassee brought national attention and highlights the increased activity in the state.

  • Uthmeier was recently held in civil contempt by a federal judge over a Florida law criminalizing the entry of illegal immigrants into the state. He responded by affirming his support for Trump’s immigration agenda.

  • The proposal also aims to help with the overcrowding at ICE facilities, which are currently 53,000+ over capacity, as the Biden-era congressional budget only funds 41,500 beds.

  • If Republicans’ proposed “Big Beautiful Bill” passes, ICE could receive $45 billion to expand detention capabilities.

  • ICE’s daily arrest quotas have reportedly increased from 1,800 to 3,000, further stressing existing resources.

  • The “Alligator Alcatraz” project is a bold, low-cost, rapid-response immigration detention center meant to support enforcement efforts in line with Trump-era immigration policies, while taking advantage of Florida’s unique geography for natural containment.

    I love it!

    Let’s make it happen!
