The editor for the UK-based publication The Telegraph published an opinion piece on Wednesday declaring that the United States should be Israel's sole aid in destroying Iran's nuclear program. He also stated that the United Kingdom should not have to get "directly involved."

"Israel must be allowed to attack Iran’s evil regime, and the West must support it," Allister Heath stated, later specifying, "If Israel doesn’t have the equipment to do so itself, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris must send in their own bunker-busting bombs."

He clarified: "I’m not calling for any kind of land invasion, or even for the UK to get directly involved."

Heath stressed that this intervention from the United States was of utmost importance following Iran's attack on Israel during which around 120 missiles were fired into the state. While the attack was ultimately a failure, as he acknowledged, he direly warned, "If you crave peace, a war against Iran will be necessary first. If you want to avert a nuclear apocalypse, Iran’s atomic programme must be obliterated. If you long for a better, saner world, Iran’s repugnant theocrats need to be extirpated" and he called on Americans to take on this responsibility.

Iran entered the conflict between Hamas and Israel earlier this year, aiding the terrorist group alongside Lebanon-based Hezbollah after Hamas invaded Israel on October 7, 2023.
