A UK man who was accused of stabbing his wife to death as she pushed their baby in a stroller through Bradford has pleaded not guilty to murder as well as two charges of assault, making threats to kill, stalking, and possession of a knife.

25-year-old Habibur Masum denied being involved in the attack that took place back in April and left 27-year-old Kulsuma Akter, his wife, dead. Their baby was unharmed and is reportedly being looked after by relatives, per the Daily Mail. Akter was stabbed multiple times. Emergency services were called but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bradford Crown Court heard how Masum allegedly stalked Akter between November and April during which he "tracked her movements and located her at a safe house, sent her messages of a menacing nature which contained threats to kill another and photos and videos of the area and premises where she was residing." His charges stated he "loitered in the area of her temporary residence," caused her "alarm or distress," and to "fear that violence would be used against her."

Masum, described by Daily Mail as a "wannabe blogger," was arrested after a manhunt three days after the attack. Five other people were arrested in connection with the murder. Upon visiting the village where Masum's parents lived in April, the Daily Mail discovered they had fled following the attack out of fear that Akter's relatives would take revenge on them.

A local told the outlet: "They have gone, they left a few days ago when the news came out. They were scared of being attacked, we haven't seen them since it happened."
