Elon Musk's theoretical third party would get 8% of vote in 2026 Midterms if held today: Poll

Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently floated the idea of creating a third party amid his feud with President Donald Trump last week, and just 8% of respondents on Wednesday indicated they would support his candidate in next year's midterms.

Musk mulled the idea of creating "The America Party" last week after he clashed with Trump over his large spending bill. The two have since ended the public feud but have not publicly repaired the friendship they formed last year.

A Napolitan News poll released Wednesday found that 8% of respondents would support Musk's candidates, or a third party candidate in the 2026 midterms, while 35% said they'd support Republicans and 35% said they'd support Democrats. The other 18% said they were still undecided.

The poll was conducted virtually on Monday and surveyed 1,000 registered voters. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1%.
