Netanyahu comments of Israel's strikes on Iran proxies but no mention of Hamas leader killing

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday released a video address on Israeli attacks against Iranian proxies.

Netanyahu mentioned attacks on Iran-backed Houthis and an attack that killed Fuad Shukr, a key Hezbollah commander, Fox News reported.

The video address did not mention an attack that killed Ismail Haniyeh, a Hamas political leader.

Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attack but was quickly blamed for the killing, which Israel pledged to carry out after the October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks.

"Iran's duty to avenge Haniyeh's blood because he was martyred on our soil," said Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Iran's U.K. embassy asked for an emergency U.N. Security Council meeting after Haniyeh's killing, which has heightened fears of a wider conflagration in the Middle East.
