Sen. Ted Cruz says Trump will go after the surge of antisemitism on university campuses

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said that President-elect Donald Trump's administration will crack down on the rising antisemitism on college campuses.

“I’ll tell you something that you’re going to see in New York … next year with a new Department of Justice, a new attorney general, and a new Director of the FBI. You’re going to see the federal government going after antisemitism on college campuses," Cruz said during a radio interview with John Catsimatidis.

He added that there will be federal investigations and federal prosecutions, according to The Hill.

Following the Oct. 7 attack on Israel conducted by the terrorist group Hamas, anti-Israel protests erupted on campuses all across the country, including Ivy League universities.

“So, whether it’s Columbia University or NYU or universities across the country in blue states that have tolerated and encouraged antisemitism, you’re going to suddenly see what it means to have a Department of Justice enforcing the civil rights laws and protecting Jewish students on campus,” Cruz stated.

Cruz's statements come shortly after House Republicans released a report highlighting increases in antisemitism on university campuses.
