Two people were tased and several others were arrested at a town hall event Tuesday evening hosted by Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
The event was held at a community center in the Georgia city of Acworth.
One attendee was tased by police officers as he was being removed from the event.
Videos shared on the social media platform X showed that the disrupter appeared to shove a police officer while being forced to leave the event.
“This is a peaceful town hall, ladies and gentlemen,” Greene told the crowds, according to The New York Post. “This should not have to happen.”
Attendees were reportedly screened to ensure they were from Greene's congressional district.
A taser was also used on another protester, but the details are unclear about the circumstances of that incident.
The individuals tased have been identified by authorities as Andrew Russell Nelms, 40, and Johnny Keith Williams, 45.
Other protesters were either escorted out or arrested for causing a scene.
“I’m glad they got thrown out," Greene said. That’s exactly what I wanted to see happen. This isn’t a political rally or a protest."
