Joe Biden put on a red Trump 2024 hat at a 9/11 remembrance event in Pennsylvania Monday, much to the surprise of those in attendance.
Yes, really.
The Trump campaign quickly posted footage of the incident, quipping “Kamala did so bad in last night’s debate, Joe Biden just put on a Trump hat.”

Footage with more context soon emerged, showing Biden speaking with the owner of the Trump hat, a former fire fighter at the station in Shanksville.
The man hilariously asked Biden if he even remembered his own name when Biden offered to autograph a presidential hat for him as a gift.
Biden was then goaded by the crowd to swap hats with the former firefighter and put the Trump hat on.

White House Senior Deputy Press Secretary and Deputy Assistant to the President Andrew Bates later spun the incident to suggest Biden was purposefully engaging in a show of unity on the anniversary of 9/11, rather than just having pudding for brains.
At the Shanksville Fire Station, @POTUS spoke about the country's bipartisan unity after 9/11 and said we needed to get back to that.

Biden also posed with kids at the event, all of whom were hilariously Trump supporters, decked out in Trump apparel.

The incident occurred a day after Trump claimed during the debate with Kamala Harris that Biden “hates her” for her role in the Democrat coup against him.
