Ben Shapiro delivered harsh words on Friday, speaking out against “corrupt pundits” in what many are perceiving as a thinly veiled attack on Tucker Carlson.
During Friday's episode of The Ben Shapiro Show, the program's eponymous host holds a little whiteboard while railing against purported peddlers of conspiracy theories. Many observers on social media that his attacks are a not-so-subtle dig at one particular pundit: a certain New England-bred, middle-aged ex-Fox News host known for questioning official institutional narratives.
“This is the game that is played by so many corrupt commentators: 'Just asking questions.' I don't have to show you evidence that something terrible is happening. I don't have to actually demonstrate how the thing is happening. I don't actually have to tell you who the problem is—wink wink—but I can just tell you right now that there is a problem.”
Shapiro further elaborates, identifying the target of his diatribe as fifty years old in what many are saying constitutes a subtle jibe at the fifty-four year-old Tucker Carlson.
“Now, let me tell you something about 'just asking questions' for a second. Just asking questions is a game for children… You are fifty, and you are just asking question? I don't think that you are just asking questions. I think that your level of curiosity is quite low. I think that you don't care enough to know or know enough to care,” Shapiro added.
During an appearance on the podcast Breaking Points last year, Carlson unloaded some of his own criticism of Shapiro, questioning the Jewish pundit's care for the well-being of the United States.
“I’m shocked how little they care about the country, including [Shapiro], and I can’t imagine how someone like that could get an audience of people who claim to care about America because he doesn’t, obviously,” Carlson opined.
