Candace Owens has broken her silence following her departure from The Daily Wire, accusing Ben Shapiro of using apophasis to criticize her and threatening to go to the media to tell her side of the story.

Responding to a post on X which features Glen Greenwald responding to a clip of Shapiro discussing Owens' firing during a recent appearance on The Rubin Report, Owens retaliated against Shapiro's criticisms and accused him of violating a private agreement not to talk about the circumstances of her departure.

“Ben—we agreed not to talk about this, but you are very much going on a public tour right now pretending not to talk about it, while you are very much talking about it. Would you like me to do the same?”

In the clip which Owens highlighted, Greenwald goes point by point over Shapiro's explanations in the clip, in which the Jewish pundit attempts to reconcile his professed affinity for free speech with his suppression of Owens' purportedly antisemitic views.

Later, in a different post, Owens continued with the paraliptical motif, responding to a post which alleges that Daily Wire employees were summoned to an impromptu town hall meeting to tarnish her name in anticipation of her firing.

“I was not aware of this,” Owens said. “Maybe me and [Joe Rogan] should get together and talk about it, while pretending we’re not talking about it.”
