Last week Resist The Mainstream reported The Daily Wire and Candace Owens ended their relationship.

“The rumors are true— I am finally free,” Owens shared on X.

Since the news first broke, various speculations for why Owens left the outlet emerged. With commentators highlighting the conservative host’s fiery online debates with several members of the Jewish community who she claims are targeting her for being a Christian.

On Monday, Daily Wire CEO Jeremy Boreing was asked during a X space why Owens was let go.

Responding to an earlier question about where the Daily Wire’s money comes from and what the outlet’s agenda is, Boreing highlighted that the company is a for-profit with no donors that earns its income from its millions of subscribers.

Boreing eventually acknowledged taking $4.7M nine years ago from the Wilks brothers to start The Daily Wire, whom he stated are not Jewish, in an attempt to fend off allegations and “conspiracies” of the outlet being run by Jews.

Boreing then went on to state that Ben Shapiro does not run the outlet, and that The Daily Wire is a company majority owned and run by Christians. “The decisions we make as a company we make as Christian men,” he said.

“What did Candance do that she deserved to be fired,” interjected speaker Andrew Meyer.

Boreing refused to respond to the comment directly, but did confirm Media Matters and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) did not play a part in the decision to let Owens leave.

“Media Matters is like the greatest gift ever given to The Daily Wire,” Boreing said. “I love that they literally pay people six figures a year to listen to all my content and promote it for me.”

“I can’t believe that they continue to do it,” he continued. “It’s the stupidest organization to have ever existed. And the ADL is garbage.”

Meyer then further questioned Boreing on the suspicious timing of the “firing” coming just one day after Owens defended herself against accusations of anti-Semitism following the ADL's “hit piece” accusing her of supporting bigotry against the Jews.

The article concerned the controversial political pundit and live streamer Nick Fuentes, an outspoken critic of Jewish people and their culture. The article also cited several instances of Fuentes expressing enthusiasm for Owens’ public comments.

Responding to the timing of the alleged firing, which Boreing calls a mutual departure, the CEO said “I understand people looking for a conspiracy will find one.”

“Ben Shapiro is as critical of the ADL as anyone out there,” he continued. Boreing pointed out that he himself is also a vocal critic of the ADL, and that he doesn't know anyone at The Daily Wire who supports the outlet.

Earlier Monday, Boreing responded to a post on X from internet personality Andrew Tate that included “Christ is King.”

“As a Muslim it warms my heart to see the resurgence of spirited Christian declarations. Christ is King. And I pray Christianity regains its strength and protects its societies against the pervasive and constant erosion of morality by the devotees of Satan,” Tate said.

“If you accept everything you stand for nothing,” he continued.

Boreing responded to the post, saying, “If you take your cues about morality from a man who uses sex to manipulate women into doing pornography for his profit, and then sells a course teaching others to do the same, all while lying about his wealth and boasting about his sexual conquests, you deserve the contempt he holds you in for being as foolish as he counts on you being.”

Boreing’s response sparked controversy online Tuesday, with users highlighting Tate’s post being an odd one to respond to out of all of the posts circulating X that day about the Owens departure.

Later in the X Space, speaker Lauren Chen said that “Christ Is King” is now even being portrayed as Jew hatred by some people. She highlighted past statements from Boreing acknowledging the statement “can be anti-Semitic,” then asked the CEO to comment.

“No one is saying 'Christ Is King' is a dog whistle per se,” but certainty “it can be,” Boreing retorted.

Nick Fuentes, speaking through a different account than his own, questioned Boreing further on this statement. He alleged that The Daily Wire is an Israel-first company, contradicting earlier statements from Boreing by bringing up some past examples of Shapiro sharing ADL content.

Boreing ended the disclosure by calling Fuentes a “very effective communicator” while stating he's “troubled” by many of the things Fuentes says.

RTM writer Nicholas Dolinger published an opinion piece on the matter. Check it out below:
