Former President Donald Trump posted on Instagram Monday, blasting Joe Biden for “skyrocketing” gasoline prices.
Trump highlighted that the price of gasoline is nearing $4 a gallon in “many” states, and in others, it can cost much more than that.

He said that gasoline prices have already risen 6% within the past 6 months alone, and they are only going to go “higher and higher.”
“The price of gasoline affects everyone and everything,” Trump argued.
He went on to say that high gas prices are hurting Americans not only at the pump, but also with the cost of groceries, package deliveries, and in “virtually everything you have and everything you buy.”
Trump then recapped Biden’s failures in regards to American energy independence.
“Joe Biden actually wants high prices because they help with his ridiculous policy of abolishing gasoline powered engines and forcing everyone into expensive all electric cars that don’t go very far as you know,” Trump said.
“That’s why when Joe Biden came into office he shut down the KeyStone XL pipeline which was a travesty,” the former president continued. “He canceled our oil leases in Alaska, but he approved the Russian pipeline going to Germany and all over Europe.”
Biden “waged war on American energy” when he came into office, Trump stated.
“Joe Biden’s weakness plunged the world into chaos and conflict, further driving up the prices you’re paying at the pump,” he lamented to his audience.
Trump said he would make lowering gasoline prices American families “day one” priority, and then specified that also includes electricity “and everything else that comes with it.”
“We will drill baby, drill,” he said, in reference to what those early day initiatives would include.
“We will slash energy crushing regulations, and we will restore peace and stability to bring gasoline prices down for everybody,” he continued.
Towards the end of the Instagram video, Trump took a couple seconds to remind Americans that three years ago under his leadership the nation was energy independent.
“Now our country’s a mess,” he said in a final dig at Biden.
