Trina McGee, the former Boy Meets World actress, announced on Instagram that she is expecting her fourth child at the age of 54. The actress announced, “At the tender age of 54 I have found myself pregnant. Please bless us with your prayers for a safe delivery. Thank you.”

“Gonna sign off social media for a bit,” she later wrote. “Thanks for your prayers and well wishes in advance.”

Fans were in disbelief in the comments section, more so over her age rather than the announcement.  “54?!?! Years old?!?! I mean yeah congratulations on the baby but how are you 54?!” one user wrote.

“Yeah, but in Trina McGee years you’re still only in your thirties 😂,” said another.

McGee's career began with minor film roles and guest spots on sitcoms. In 1997, she landed her first recurring TV role as Angela Moore on Boy Meets World. Angela's interracial relationship with Shawn Hunter (played by Rider Strong, who was 10 years her junior) was groundbreaking for a major network show, especially one aimed at teenagers.

McGee reported that young fans reacted very positively to the relationship, often asking when the characters might reconcile after a breakup. She hoped the storyline would promote color blindness. In 2015, she reprised the role in an episode of the sequel series Girl Meets World.

McGee currently has three children with a fourth now on the way. Her children are from her previous marriage to Courtland Davis, and the family tends to keep a relatively low profile, so there isn't a lot of publicly available detailed information about her kids.

McGee joins the new ranks of celebrity moms having babies past 50. In March, Cameron Diaz, at the age of 51, announced the arrival of her son, Cardinal. She and her rockstar husband Benjamin Madden revealed the arrival of the new member to their family on Instagram as well. “We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our Son, Cardinal Madden❤️🙏He is awesome and We are all so happy he is here!” they wrote.
