Recent polls conducted by highly regarded firms Trafalgar Group and InsiderAdvantage show former President Donald Trump gaining ground against Vice President Kamala Harris in key swing states.

The findings come from Robert Cahaly of the Trafalgar Group and Matt Towery of InsiderAdvantage, who co-host the popular PollingPlus podcast. Their insights are especially noteworthy given their firms’ reputation for accuracy in prior elections, a status confirmed by RealClearPolitics.

In Michigan, the race is tight, with Harris holding a slight edge at 49% to Trump’s 47%. However, Trump edges out Harris in Wisconsin, leading 49% to 48%. Trafalgar Group’s polling further reveals a trend favoring Trump in other critical regions.

In Pennsylvania, Trump leads with 46%, compared to Harris’s 44%. Arizona shows a similar pattern, with Trump at 48% and Harris at 47%. Trump’s lead extends to Nevada, where he outpaces Harris 48% to 45%, and in North Carolina, where he leads 49% to 45%. These results indicate that Trump retains solid support in states that could be pivotal in determining the outcome of the election. The consistency of his lead across multiple states shows a resilient base and potential weaknesses in Harris’s campaign strategy.

Polling data also showed that a significant portion of the electorate remains undecided or favors other candidates. In states like Pennsylvania and Nevada, undecided voters and those supporting other candidates total 10% and 7% respectively, enough to swing the results as the race progresses. While Trump may find reassurance in his enduring appeal in battleground states, the coming weeks are sure to bring more insights as both sides adjust their tactics in response to the shifting electoral terrain.

Former President Trump rallied supporters in Montana Thursday night, aiming to invigorate the Republican party’s prospects in a tightly contested Senate race this year. “I hear he’s going to make a comeback at the Democrat convention,” Trump joked of Biden during the rally. “He’s going to walk into the room and he’s going to say, ‘I want my presidency back. I want another chance to debate Trump. I want another chance.’”

At his rally in Bozeman, Montana, Trump took a pointed jab at Governor Walz. “He ordered tampons to be put into boys’ bathrooms. Do we have any children here? Please close your ears. He ordered tampons in boys’ bathrooms, OK?” Trump said of Walz.

“So when you’re commander in chief, you don’t go to the run and hide away from the press. You know, they run and they wanna go on a record that’s a fake record. They have a fake record, both of them. How ’bout the new guy? How do you like him?” Trump said.

Trump’s appearance at the Montana rally was delayed due to mechanical failures with his plane, as reported by the U.S. Secret Service. On the same evening, Vice President Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, hit the campaign trail in Arizona continuing their push through pivotal battleground states.

The stage is set for a fiery debate as Trump confirms his participation in a televised face-off against Harris on ABC, slated for September 10. This debate marks the first of potentially three in September, though the dates for the remaining debates are yet to be confirmed.
