Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, came out on Thursday and stated that he believes the only reason Vice President Kamala Harris got the Democratic Party presidential nomination in light of President Joe Biden leaving the race is due to being a black woman, which he said makes her a total DEI hire.

Donohue, who has his doctorate in sociology from New York University, said that anyone who believes that Harris received this post due to her own merits is not being truthful due to Biden eliminating “94 percent of the population” from consideration within the pool of potential vice presidents he chose in the 2020 election to black women.

He also observes that leftwing journalists like MSNBC commentator Joy Reid contradict themselves when they say that “DEI is actually a good thing” while also saying that it is racist to say that Harris is a DEI hire. DEI — which used to be called affirmative action — not only propelled Harris to the White House, Donohue remarks, but also to key positions in her legal career.

Harris failed her first bar exam, whereas more than 72 percent of those who took it passed, Donohue writes.

“Even though she flunked the test, she was hired as a deputy district attorney in Alameda County,” he goes on to add in his statement on Harris being the Democratic nominee. “How many white people are hired for such a job after they fail the bar?”

He later said that those on the left will soon have to make a choice between saying DEI is a good thing that ought to be celebrated or something that’s racist that people should be condemning. He then noted that they cannot have it both ways.

The article then takes a jab at Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, stating that since she failed to provide a definition for what a woman is, she should not be sitting on the bench of the highest court in the land, as that is an example of the ineffectiveness of DEI hires.
