Former Trump White House trade advisor Peter Navarro, who is currently in prison for refusing to comply with a subpoena from the fraudulent January 6 committee, is expected to speak at the Republican National Convention next week. Navarro will be addressing convention attendees just hours after his release.

Navarro is set to be released from a Miami prison on Wednesday, July 17, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ online database. This would give him just enough time to hop on a plane and make his way to Milwaukee before the convention wraps up on Thursday.

In September, Navarro was found guilty of contempt of Congress charges. The former Trump official cited executive privilege when refusing to comply with the committee’s investigation, which was formed in defiance of House rules. Then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) refused to allow Republicans to appoint their own members to the committee, instead opting to appoint anti-Trump “Republicans” such as Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger instead.

The January 6 committee — which hired a Hollywood producer to spice up its primetime hearings — telegraphed numerous bits of misinformation to the American people. In one instance, the committee aired testimony from former Trump aide Cassidy Hutchinson, who claimed that Trump attempted to grab the steering wheel of a secret service vehicle and drive back to the Capitol when the protests devolved into a riot. This claim has been thoroughly debunked by Secret Service agents.

The committee also cherry-picked video footage and failed to mention that police caused the riot by firing crowd control munitions at peaceful protesters. This footage, along with 14,000 additional hours, were hidden from the American people in favor of cherry-picked clips.

For refusing to cooperate with the sham committee, Navarro was charged with contempt of Congress and ultimately sentenced to four months in federal prison by an Obama-appointed federal judge.

Notable Democrats who have been held in contempt of Congress — such as former Attorney General Eric Holder and current Attorney General Merrick Garland — have never even faced criminal charges for the same conduct, much less prison time.
