Seattle's socialist mayor is taking fire from fellow Democrats as a recall drive threatens to cut short her rocky tenure at City Hall.
Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson appeared to take a swipe at Mayor Katie Wilson this week by reposting journalist Ari Hoffman's blistering account of her response to the July 27 mass shooting at the Bite of Seattle food festival.
Three people were killed in the bloodshed.
Hoffman reported that Wilson refused to speak or turn on her camera during an emergency Zoom call hastily arranged for Washington leaders after the shooting.
When Hoffman filed a Freedom of Information Act request seeking records of the call, Ferguson's office said it did not have a recording.
The Democratic governor's account then shared Hoffman's post targeting Wilson, an unexpected move that caught the conservative journalist by surprise.
Hoffman wrote on X that the repost "wasn't on my bingo card for today."
"He seems to really be trying to throw Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson under the bus," wrote Hoffman, an editor at the conservative Post Millennial.
"Interesting that the governor follows me on social media."

Ferguson's account later appeared to delete the repost.
The social media spectacle comes as the embattled socialist mayor faces a possible recall after seven months in office. Critics have hammered Wilson over her lack of experience, anti-business positions and bungled response to the festival shooting.
Seattle residents Melinda Jacobson and Dale Osterud filed paperwork seeking to recall Wilson, saying they joined the campaign because she has been "derelict in her duties for public safety of the city of Seattle," according to The Seattle Times.
Jacobson said Wilson has "sort of ignored the public safety part of her job, which is a huge part, and that is not right."
"This is a big city," she told the newspaper Friday. "We need a big-city-type mayor who knows how to deal with everything."
The couple's recall letter also accused Wilson of making a "hasty, rash decision to force a resignation" from Seattle Police Chief Shon Barnes, 55, over his handling of the deadly July 27 shooting.
