Ah man, I really did not want to write this article.
I’ve avoided covering it all day.
I like Howard Lutnick and have been impressed with him from Day 1.
But we don’t write articles around here only on things that make us feel good and happy, we cover the truth.
And the truth is, this stinks.
Something seems very off here, but I’m going to report and then let you decide what you think.
Watch as President Trump begins describing the extremely unusual circumstances that kept Howard Lutnick home on the morning of 9/11 and look how nervously Lutnick is laughing through the whole thing:
This is when… A visibly nervous Howard Lutnick laughed as President Trump described how he somehow miraculously survived 9/11

Grok confirms the video is authentic:
Yes, the video appears to be real and authentic.
It captures a moment from a White House signing ceremony on February 17, 2026, where President Trump shares his well-known anecdote about nearly being at the World Trade Center on 9/11, while Howard Lutnick (standing second from the left) laughs during the retelling.
The story aligns with publicly documented accounts from both Trump and Lutnick about their experiences that day—Trump avoiding a meeting there due to a contractor dispute, and Lutnick surviving because he was dropping his son off at school, though his firm lost 658 employees, including his brother.
The footage shows no obvious signs of manipulation based on the frames and audio. Similar events, like other Oval Office signings, have been covered by outlets such as Right Side Broadcasting Network and C-SPAN in recent weeks, often featuring Lutnick and other cabinet members.
Reactions on X treat it as genuine, focusing on the perceived insensitivity rather than questioning its validity.
And here he is 25 years ago telling the same story to Fox News….
And of course highlighting the number “33”.
But I’m sure that doesn’t mean anything:
Not only did Howard Lutnick evade death on 9/11 by taking his kid to school for the first time in five years

He made the point of noting the average age of the 700 employees of his who died was "33" pic.twitter.com/0xE0AezlwL
And you can’t make this stuff up….
Howard Lutnick and Jeffrey Epstein were neighbors living at 9 an 11 East 71st St. (9/11):
When Jeffrey Epstein was neighbor’s with Howard Lutnick their addresses were

And look man, I know everyone “grieves different” but is he laughing or crying in this one?
I can’t tell:
He took all the insurance money meant for the families who lost loved ones and get it all to the partners of the firm! This is the most psychopath shit I have ever seen! https://t.co/hsuo6Udqiv

Meanwhile, Howard’s lawyer sister also missed work on the morning of 9/11.
What are the odds?
What are the odds both Lutnicks missed work on 9/11? pic.twitter.com/fftQ0AYzJW

Again, Fact-Checked TRUE by Grok:
Yes, Edie Lutnick missed being at work during the 9/11 attacks. She had a law office on the 101st floor of One World Trade Center (the North Tower) and was scheduled for an early meeting that day, but it was rescheduled at the last minute by the other party, so she decided to head in later and was still at home when the planes struck.
Edie is related to Howard Lutnick; she is his sister (and was also the sister of their brother Gary Lutnick, who died in the attacks).
Howard’s wife is actually Allison Lutnick (née Lambert), whom he married in 1994.
What are the odds?
And ummmm….I’ll just leave this here:
