Like Gavin Newsom, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attended the Munich Security Conference in order to look ‘presidential,’ worldly, and...
experienced. Instead, she botched the political portfolio she was building.
Her answers to foreign policy questions ended up triggering criticism from both Republicans and Democrats alike. AOC’s political career might now be limited to serving in the House, and she’s probably better suited to some other job instead of that—say, bartending.
When questioned about Taiwan, AOC seemed mystified. Her fumbling answer consisted mostly of ‘uhhhs.’ Then she commented about the former Venezuelan dictator, Maduro, attempting to paint Trump as a racist. She said, “He (Maduro) was an anti-democratic leader. That doesn’t mean that we can kidnap a head of state and engage in acts of war just because the nation is below the equator.” Wait, What? Venezuela is above the equator. The equator does not touch Venezuela—it goes through Brazil.
Many might think these are trivial mistakes. After all, too many young people can’t find Venezuela on a map. They are woefully ignorant about politics, countries, and leaders of the world thanks to an education system that prefers students go out and protest ICE instead of learning. But a presidential candidate mustn’t make such mistakes. They are supposed to be a cut above—very smart and studied, preferably holding an advanced degree with honors, but also well-grounded in reality. Maybe they served in the US military. A presidential candidate needs to be someone like JD Vance, for example.
Hillary was there as well, looking surly and sounding snarly. Why can’t she simply retire and enjoy the vast riches she and Bill grifted from the American people? Everyone knows she’s there because she still wants power. She saw Joe Biden (or whoever was wearing the mask) become president with barely two brain cells to rub together. He was 78 years old when elected President. Hillary is 78—maybe she thinks she has a chance. She gets a lot of mileage out of her meanness. At the very least she wants to be seen as influential and a mover and shaker. Or maybe she remains unable to shake off the fact that she lost to Trump.
The Democrats will soon need to find a viable candidate for their 2028 presidential campaign. ‘Hairdo’ Gavin completely destroyed California. His silver-spooned attitude and fake Joker-like smile will turn off voters. Cackling Kamala will be lucky to fetch a primary or two. AOC is liked only because she makes people laugh—but they are laughing AT her, not with her. Just like President Trump said, “AOC is a bad look for the country.”
Did AOC blow her 2028 chances already? Ask Dukakis.
