Four-week-old baby is beaten up by gang of Detroit women who lured his mother onto street so they could attack her

A four-week-old baby was left with a battered face and swollen eye after three women allegedly lured his mother into a vicious ambush in Detroit.

The attack saw the helpless newborn thrown to the ground before subjecting the baby's mother to a savage beating lasting ten-minutes.

The horrifying attack, part of which was captured on camera, unfolded on Detroit's west side after the mother claims she was tricked into visiting a home by women who said they wanted to meet her newborn son.

Instead, the mom says she was confronted by three relatives of the baby's father, who allegedly attacked her and led to her infant son being thrown from his stroller, hitting his face against the ground.

Both mother and baby were hospitalized following the shocking assault, which came just four weeks after the woman had undergone a C-section to deliver her child.

The mother's face was left so badly bruised and swollen that she refused to appear on camera, telling one local reporter she no longer felt like herself.

Detroit police are now preparing to refer the case to prosecutors, with investigators seeking criminal charges against all three women.

The mother asked to remain anonymous and was identified only as 'Taylor' as she described the terrifying ordeal to Fox 2 Detroit.

'They came out and started jumping me, and it was three versus one,' she said.

'It doesn't matter what I said to anyone. It don't matter. This, what happened to me and my son, we didn't deserve this.'

Taylor said the nightmare began when she was invited to a property on Detroit's west side.

The women allegedly claimed they wanted to see the infant, but the seemingly innocent visit took a sinister turn when Taylor attempted to hand over her baby's car seat.

'As I'm handing her my car seat, she starts to kind of like snatch it out of my hand,' Taylor recalled.

Then the situation suddenly erupted into violence. During the confrontation, the newborn was tossed from his stroller and landed face-first on the ground.

The impact left the tiny baby with a swollen eye and visible bruising.

It remains unclear exactly how the baby came to be thrown from the stroller or whether he was deliberately targeted.

Taylor said the three women then continued to attack her together.

'I just was feeling blows on every part of my body,' she recalled.

She described suffering injuries across her forehead and severe swelling around both eyes, with one eye becoming completely shut.

The beating was made all the worse with Taylor still recovering from major surgery having undergone a C-section four weeks before the attack.

Police have not explained what triggered the confrontation or whether there had been previous disagreements between the women.

The identities of the three accused attackers have also not been released.

Investigators say they are nearing the end of their investigation with Detroit police preparing to submit their findings to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office which will decide whether criminal charges should be brought.
