A man has been extradited from Poland and charged with murder more than three years after a body of a tradie was found inside a metal cabinet on the NSW Mid North Coast.
The 26-year-old arrived at Sydney International Airport in Mascot at about 6pm on Friday, escorted by homicide detectives.
He was taken to Mascot Police Station, where he was charged with the murder of Darcy Schafer-Turner.
Two men have previously been sentenced over the death of Mr Schafer-Turner, who was 22 when he disappeared following a drug-related dispute.
NSW Police had launched an investigation in March 2023 to look into the alleged supply of drugs in Caringbah, in Sydney's south.
Officers found links to a missing person case and brought in homicide detectives, who established Strike Force Etruscan to investigate the disappearance of a 22-year-old man from Peakhurst.
On May 12, 2023, police searched Warrell Creek at Macksville, a small town on the Nambucca River, where they found the remains of Mr Schafer-Turner hidden inside a large metal cabinet in a creek.
Zachary Richard Fraser, 22, and Charles Dennis Le Marchant Turnbull, 33, were charged over the alleged murder at the time and have since been dealt with by the courts.

Fraser, a close friend of Mr Schafer-Turner, was sentenced to six-and-a-half years prison in 2025 after pleading guilty to manslaughter.
Turnbull pleaded guilty to being an accessory to manslaughter.
After further investigations, detectives identified a third suspect who was allegedly involved in the killing and had been living in Poland.
On September 18, 2026, detectives travelled to the European country to arrest the 26-year-old man.
With help from Polish authorities and national law enforcement partners, detectives arrested him and arranged his extradition to Australia.
