President Donald Trump's support among the public appears to be faltering considerably ahead of the midterm elections, according to a recent poll.
Overall, Trump's disapproval rating stood at 60% among registered voters in the latest NBC News poll, with 40% approving of his performance.
Driving much of the drop appears to be Republican frustration with the economy. A noteworthy 53% of Republican voters indicated they were dissatisfied with the state of the economy.
The results appear in step with other polls, as Trump currently boasts a 58.8% disapproval rating in the RealClearPolitics polling average. A further 39.2% approved of his performance in that metric.
Conducted Oct. 28-30, the survey questioned 1,000 registered voters and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1%.
