The FBI is cleaning house today.

Two former FBI agents working for a now-dissolved branch of the agency have been arrested for lying to Congress about the investigation into Hunter Biden's laptop from hell.

These two claimed that FITF, which has now been dissolved by the FBI, was not investigating the laptop belonging to the former president Joe Biden's son. Contemporaneous docs show that this was a lie and a known lie at the time.

This morning, two former senior FBI officials, Nikki Floris, 46, and Bradley Benavides, 56, surrendered on arrest warrants after being charged with lying to Congress about their roles on the Foreign Influence Task Force during the 2020 election. Floris and Benavides allegedly lied to Congress about their roles in the FBI's Hunter Biden investigations, with one claiming they only learned about it from Wikipedia - despite evidence showing their involvement in helping shape the public narrative about Hunter Biden's laptop right before the election.

After acknowledging that she could be prosecuted under 18 U.S.C. § 1001 for providing a false statement to Congress, FLORIS testified that she had no involvement in the Hunter Biden investigations. In reality, she was in frequent communication with the case team for over a year during which she both sent and received information about Hunter Biden. FLORIS testified that she knew nothing about the Hunter Biden laptop. In reality, she coordinated the FBI's response to news articles about the laptop in real time. FLORIS agreed that she had "no personal knowledge of Hunter Biden ever being the subject of any discussion at the FITF" while she was there. In reality, she personally participated in scores of conversations about Hunter Biden, including many that were in writing.

Floris was (allegedly) not only aware of the laptop, aware of the investigation, and knew she was lying to Congress, she was working with the FBI to craft their PR response to the laptop debacle.
