On Monday, a judge issued an arrest warrant for Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate who ran for president three times.
She is facing misdemeanor charges for trespassing and allegedly assaulting a bicycle cop during a protest at Washington University back in 2024.
First Alert 4 detailed that incident:
Documents state that on April 27, 2024, a protest began in Forest Park. At around 3:47 p.m., the protest moved into Skinker Park, towards Brooksings Drive and entered the Washington University Danforth Campus. Court documents state the protestors were chanting phrases associated with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Court documents state that the Olin Library was evacuated after protestors entered and set up tents.
The afternoon events transpired in protestors chanting chants that said "Shame, shame, shame" and explicit language used against Washington University Dean Rob Wild.
Protestors were given a last warning by officers at 7:41 p.m., stating they'd be arrested for trespassing. Court documents state the protestors locked arms and said "hold the line" as officers approached them.
Documents state that Officer Conroy approached on a bicycle, which Stein grabbed, leading to Officer Moore attempting to help. The bicycle hit Moore in the forearm, and while the bicycle was raised, Stein allegedly kicked Moore multiple times in the right leg near the groin. Officer Moore was later diagnosed with a strain in his left forearm, a contusion in the back of his right leg and a groin injury.
Both Stein and her attorney failed to show up for a court hearing on the case, which was scheduled for 9 AM on August 17th in St. Louis, MO.

St. Louis Judge Karma Johnson issued an arrest warrant following Stein’s no-show in court.
St. Louis Magazine reported further:
Perennial Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein faces an arrest warrant in Missouri after neither she nor her attorney appeared at a hearing Monday morning related to misdemeanor charges for the alleged assault of a bicycle cop at Washington University more than two years ago.
The charges stem from an April 2024 protest at the university over the war in Gaza. More than 100 people were arrested as police broke up the protest, though only Stein and one other individual wound up being charged. Stein faced misdemeanors for assault and trespass, charges that were issued the following March.
According to media reports at the time, police accused Stein of grabbing the bicycle of one officer and kicking another officer multiple times.
The two-year-old case had a hearing Monday at 9 a.m. The court filing setting the hearing noted, "All counsel and parties, including defendant, shall appear in person." Prosecutors showed up. Neither Stein nor her attorney Joseph Welch did.
On Monday morning, Circuit Court Judge Karma Johnson noted the absence of Welch and Stein. "There will be a failure to appear warrant for Ms. Stein," she said.
The prosecutors handling the case noted that their office was not asking for a warrant.
Johnson indicated she understood that position, but wasn't going to change her mind.
What do you think?
Should Jill Stein be arrested for her failure to show up to court?
