It's a mixed night in Kentucky…
First, I'll give you the good news.

Mitch McConnell's seat stays RED.

GOOD!
Andy Barr is a patriot who has been serving in Congress since 2012.
Before that, he actually was an intern for Sen. Mitch McConnell.
The Hill has more on the Senate victory:
Rep. Andy Barr (R-Ky.) is projected to win Kentucky's open Senate seat and succeed retiring Sen. Mitch McConnell (R), according to preliminary results from Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ).
Barr defeated former Kentucky state Rep. Charles Booker (D) in what DDHQ, The Hill's election partner, deemed would be a safe win for the Republican lawmaker. The Cook Political Report categorized the Senate race as a being solidly in favor of the GOP.
Barr led Booker by 3.9 percentage points with 38 percent of the vote reported by DDHQ as of 8:26 p.m. EST on Tuesday.
Barr received a wave of endorsements from Kentucky and national Republicans, including from President Trump and GOP leadership in the House and Senate.
The president had asked business owner Nate Morris, another Senate hopeful, to "step aside" from the GOP primary and join his administration as a U.S. ambassador, which he accepted, clearing the way for Barr to be the nominee.
However, it's not all good news…
Democrat Zach Dembo has won the vacant House seat left by Andy Barr, flipping it blue.
Dembo, a former federal prosecutor, beat former state Sen. Ralph Alvarado in the House race.
The Courier Journal has more:
The Bluegrass State's 6th Congressional District is back in the hands of Kentucky Democrats, with Republican Dr. Ralph Alvarado conceding the race to Democratic nominee Zach Dembo.
Dembo is a former federal prosecutor making his first run for office. Current U.S. Rep. Andy Barr, a Republican, is vacating the seat to take a spot in the U.S. Senate.
As of 9:02 p.m. Nov. 3, Dembo had 53.4% of the vote, with about 74.1% of the votes counted, according to unofficial election results.
Alvarado is a former state senator and ex-Tennessee Department of Health commissioner. Dembo left his role as a federal prosecutor in 2025 over disagreements with President Donald Trump's policy priorities.
While Kentucky's Senate seat is secure, Dembo's win means that Democrats are now one step closer towards taking control of the House.
We'll continue to bring you the latest updates on the midterm elections as they come in…
