Bondi Beach is rocked by 'random' stabbing attack: Victim is rushed to hospital after being 'knifed in the back'

A man was allegedly randomly attacked by teenagers while at Bondi Beach in Sydney late at night.

NSW Police rushed to the corner of Gould Street and Glasgow Avenue, just off the popular tourist spot, after receiving calls about 9.15pm on Friday.

Officers found a 54-year-old man with a stab wound to his upper body.

Police were told the man had an altercation with two unknown boys, before he was allegedly stabbed with a machete.

He was treated at the scene before paramedics rushed him to St Vincent's Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Photographs from the scene show members of the public helping the man as he sat on the ground before paramedics arrived.

One stranger could be seen apply pressure to the man's back, while a woman had helped bandage and apply a tourniquet to his arm.

Two boys, aged 15 and 17, were arrested at Beach Road, before being taken to Surry Hills Police Station where police are continuing their inquiries.
