Heartbreak as promising college student, 21, with her whole life ahead of her suddenly dies from mysterious medical emergency

A promising young college student suddenly died after an unknown medical emergency, leaving her family and community heartbroken.

Jordan Chymbor, 21, died unexpectedly last Saturday after experiencing a 'sudden medical emergency that turned tragic,' her family wrote in an online fundraiser.

'We are still awaiting answers, and our family is heartbroken by this unexpected and devastating loss,' her family added.

Chymbor was in her final year at the University of South Carolina and just months away from earning a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience.

The online fundraiser said Chymbor was eager to enter the medical field and had a 'bright future' ahead of her.

She graduated from high school in Cheshire, Connecticut, a town outside of New Haven, three years ago.

Chymbor was described in her obituary as having an 'innate talent for caring for others in a way to make them feel seen and valued by offering help, compassion, encouragement, and friendship.'

'Jordan's life was far too short, but her love and strength will live on in all who knew her. She was not the largest star in the sky, but she was one of the brightest,' her obituary concluded.
