A teenage girl was badly disfigured after a young man threw a car part into a Halloween party bonfire causing a catastrophic explosive blast.
Jaidynn Penberthy, 16, was at a party on October 30 when the suspect threw a vehicle shock absorber into the fire.
Phoenix police said the fire blew up, blasting Penberthy in the face.
Ethan Glass, the victim's brother, told AZ Family that the teen had a broken jaw, multiple facial fractures, missing teeth and burns.
Penberthy was unconscious after she was hit and was eventually airlifted to the hospital, her brother said.
She underwent facial reconstruction surgery and will undergo more operations in the coming days.
'There was a lot of blood,' Glass said. 'It was like a scene out of a horror movie.'
The officials are now on the lookout for the suspect between the ages of 16 and 25, who they said left before police arrived on the scene.

Penberthy was 10 feet away from the explosion. She got hit on her face and had a broken jaw, multiple facial fractures, missing teeth and burns
Police said they responded to an emergency call in a desert area close to Lake Pleasant at around 10.30pm.
Glass said that Penberthy was about 10 feet away from the fire when the blast happened.
He added that when she got hit, people around his sister gave her emergency first aid.
One of her friends informed the family about the accident. They also called 911, Glass said.
A girl also gave Penberthy a sternum rub to try to get her pulse back, Glass told the outlet.
'She said that she lost her pulse for like a minute,' Glass said.
While multiple people were hit by debris, police said Penberthy was the only one who needed urgent care.
'The way the shrapnel, the piece, whatever it was, hit her in the face, it struck her almost square in the mouth, nose, side going down kind of side of the face, just all around,' Glass said.
Penberthy is recovering in the hospital. She is conscious but unable to speak, her brother told the outlet.
The family is communicating with her through written messages.
'She's been crying a lot just from being in so much pain and just like, it's hard to breathe,' Glass said.

Glass said he is 'frustrated' and hopes that police catch the person who is responsible for his sister's condition.
'I really don't understand why he would do something of the sort. It makes no sense,' he said.
The brother added that his sister is 'very thankful that she's alive,' but 'she is confused.'
He also set up a fundraising page to get help for Penberthy's extensive medical care. The family has received more than $10,000 in donations so far.
The Phoenix police has urged anyone with additional information to report it to authorities.
'We empathize with the victim and the injuries she sustained pertaining to what transpired,' Sergeant Chris Berrelleza told the Daily Mail.
