Most voters want data centers to provide their own electricity as opposed to an outright ban: poll

According to a summary of the poll results, only 28% prefer a candidate who would ban data centers

The majority of voters prefer a candidate who wants to require data centers to provide their own electricity over a candidate who seeks to ban new data centers outright.

"Voters prefer a candidate who opposes data centers over one who supports them by a 49% to 28% margin," according to data from pollster Scott Rasmussen's Napolitan Institute.

“However, 64% would prefer a candidate who required data centers to provide their own electricity over a candidate who wants to ban new data centers,” the data showed.

According to the poll results, only 28% prefer a candidate who would ban data centers compared to 81% who "favor a proposal to require data centers to produce their own electricity."

The poll data shows 45% "strongly favor" requiring data centers to produce their own electricity.
