Britt McHenry, a press advisor to the State Department, resigned this week on the same day she was promoted, after she was filmed throwing a drink at a fellow fan during an NBA game.

Page Six first reported on McHenry's resignation, citing "a source familiar with the situation."
Her swift departure comes on the heels of White House press secretary Katie Zacharia's termination after a week. But McHenry beat her record, lasting barely a day.
She was promoted to a role handling "External Affairs & Press" on Wednesday, the outlet added.
