Police responded after reports of an explosion in the vicinity of First Street.
Officers arrived and determined the location of the explosion, which was in the middle of a residential neighborhood.
Investigation revealed that the explosion was caused by an altered commercial-grade firework.
Police identified Damien Larochelle, 23, homeless, as the suspect.
Larochelle was located and charged with reckless conduct.
Police simply issued Larochelle a criminal summons and did not actually take him into custody.
He was previously arrested in 2023 on a warrant charging him with a probation violation.
