Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis delivered a blunt closing message to Republicans on the eve of the midterm elections: show up, vote the full ticket and do not surrender an inch of the ground conservatives have won.
DeSantis urged Floridians to vote Republican from the top of the ballot to the bottom while making a direct pitch for Amendment 3, the property-tax measure he says will deliver major relief to homeowners.
His warning was simple: Democrats only need a foothold before they try to drag Florida toward the same policies that have hollowed out states like California and Illinois.
The appeal came after Democrats posted a late advantage on the final day of in-person early voting, a reminder that Florida's Republican gains do not protect themselves.
Breitbart News reports that DeSantis asked Republicans to preserve the momentum Florida has built under conservative leadership. He pointed voters toward the major statewide races and warned that Democrats would use even a narrow opening to reverse the state's direction.
The governor specifically contrasted Florida with California and Illinois, two Democrat-run states that Republicans have repeatedly held up as warnings on taxes, crime, regulation and personal freedom.
The report identified the two marquee statewide contests behind his appeal: Ashley Moody's Senate race against Democrat Angie Nixon and Byron Donalds's gubernatorial race against former Republican David Jolly. DeSantis framed both as tests of whether voters will preserve Florida's conservative direction after his term ends.
DeSantis also made Amendment 3 part of his closing argument, tying the Republican ticket to a concrete pocketbook issue for Florida homeowners.

Florida's Executive Office of the Governor says Amendment 3 would expand the homestead exemption for non-school property taxes to as much as $150,000 in 2027 and $250,000 in 2028, with future inflation adjustments.
The governor's office says the measure would also create a path for lawmakers to eliminate non-school property taxes on homesteaded property entirely. It estimates that an average Miami-Dade homeowner with an assessed value of at least $250,000 could save about $2,500 per year once the plan is fully implemented.
DeSantis has argued that local property-tax collections have nearly doubled since 2019, rising from roughly $32 billion to more than $60 billion even as the state reduced its own budget four years in a row.
That is the larger choice DeSantis put before voters: keep lowering the burden on families and businesses, or hand power to politicians who will find new ways to spend every additional dollar.
The Florida GOP reinforced the message by highlighting Sen. Ashley Moody and Republican gubernatorial nominee Byron Donalds as the ticket for lower taxes, safer communities and continued freedom.
U.S. Senator @AshleyMoodyFL and Governor Candidate @ByronDonalds will keep fighting for lower taxes, safer communities, and the freedom that makes Florida the best state in the country.

Moody is defending her Senate seat against Democrat Angie Nixon, while Donalds is running against former Republican David Jolly in the race to succeed DeSantis as governor.
Those contests will determine whether Florida keeps pressing forward as a conservative model or gives the Left an opening to undo years of work.
DeSantis did not dress up the stakes. His final message was the kind Republicans should hear clearly: victories disappear when voters stay home.
Florida Republicans have the numbers, the record and the momentum. On Election Day, they still have to finish the job.
