A California man was accused of poisoning his roommates after they caught him on camera spraying their food with a mysterious substance.
Shocking footage captured by a camera in the kitchen of the shared home in Santa Clarita showed the suspect, who has not been identified, wearing a gas mask as he sprayed his roommate's groceries.
Santa Clarita police engaged in an hours long stand off on Tuesday after the man's roommates, Billy and Davidson Hopper, alerted them to the brazen on-camera act.
Davidson told Fox LA that the couple's suspicions were raised when they were 'feeling funny', which led them to review hours of footage from the kitchen camera to find the source.
'We've caught it on video twice,' Billy said. 'He was spraying stuff all over our groceries, like our fruit, our vegetables, our coffee pot that we use every morning and our whole pantry full of all of our chips and our cereal, all of our canned goods or spices everything.'
'He sprayed it all over everything,' she added.
The couple said they've experienced repeat health issues in recent months, including being hospitalized by mysterious illnesses.
'I have liver damage and [Billy] had health issues on top of the ones that she already has,' Davidson said.

The suspect, who has not been named, was seen spraying his roommate's groceries in shocking footage caught by a camera in the shared home in Santa Clarita, California
The suspect then appeared to try and conceal the 'poison' container from his roommates
After reviewing the footage, the couple said they believed their roommate concealed the container from view to hide it from them.
Police have previously responded to two separate calls at the residence for food poisoning in the last six months.
The couple had been to the hospital and even the emergency room on multiple occasions with inexplicable symptoms, which they said even left doctors confused.
'Back in October, my wife had to go to the E.R.,' Davidson said. 'They ran all kinds of tests… there's definitely something wrong with your liver, and based on the blood work, it seems like poisoning.'
After alerting police to the latest footage, cops got into an hours-long standoff with the suspect at the home, believing them to be experiencing a mental health crisis, reported Fox LA.
The suspect eventually exited the home and was taken into custody.
The suspect's roommate Billy Hopper (pictured) said she and her partner were left 'fearing for our lives' following the horror episode
Roommate Davidson Hopper said he and his partner had been suffering mysterious illnesses for months before catching their roommate in the brazen act
Following the arrest, Bobby and Davidson also accused their roommate of theft and damaging their property.
'We've been in fear for our lives,' Billy said.
'We don't want to be in fear anymore we're tired of it, we just want to be safe.'
Police sought a search warrant for the home and the suspect was released on a notice to appear in court.
The Daily Mail contacted Los Angeles County Police and the Santa Clarita District Attorney for comment.
