Adam Brody, who plays a rabbi on Netflix's hit comedy "Nobody Wants This," called the war in Gaza a "genocide" and voiced support for a free Palestine in a recent interview with GQ.
Brody was asked about his perspective on the Israel-Gaza conflict during a Sept. 25 interview with GQ, in which he said, "I have spoken a lot about it privately. I haven't spoken much about it publicly."
The actor continued, "Put me down as thinking it's a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine."
The creator of "Nobody Wants This," Erin Foster, said she disagrees with Brody's perspective on a new episode of the "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast.
Elaborating on his stance, Brody told GQ, "It's awful that it's taken so much death and misery, but it does feel like it's reaching a breaking point that it should have a while ago."
"I'm hopeful that another administration can really do some good and correct some of these policies that are helping that situation be as awful as it is," he told the outlet.
He explained that he doesn't speak out about his political views unless directly asked.
"I'm not wearing a pin, so I'm not inviting a certain question, and perhaps I should," Brody said. "I really admire people who do."
Foster reiterated her disagreement with Brody's stance. "While I love Adam, I also disagree with him," she said. "And that's ok."
Foster admitted the situation is "complicated," before saying, "I think our work environment, our set, is very similar to dinner tables around the world where people are having debate and discussion and disagreeing."
She added, "I think that as the creator of the show, all I can say is that I want our Jewish fans to know that I see you and I hear you and I understand how you feel."
Foster continued, "And the show has always been and always will be a love letter to Judaism." (RELATED: Meghan Markle Admits To Being Aware Of Father's Child Porn Allegations For Years, Kept Her Kids Away)

"That is why I made this show. It's because of how beautiful of an experience I've had becoming Jewish and being a Jewish person, and sitting here right now at this time in the world where there is almost zero positive representation of Jewish people, I think it's so important to have that," she continued.
Foster circled back, saying she believes Brody deserves the opportunity to express his views. "That being said, everyone is entitled to a different opinion than me."
